The
Edgar Cayce Prophecies
Edgar Cayce (1877-1945), the so-called "sleeping prophet", made a
number of remarkably accurate predictions of the future. In 1934, Cayce
predicted the beginning and end of World War II many years before it happened.
He predicted the end of Communism, and that
Russia would be born again. He also saw a strong religious movement
coming out of Russia. A less plausible prediction, however, was that China
will become the new "cradle of Christianity".
Like many Christian prophets, Cayce maintained
that "the day of reckoning" was at hand. He
predicted the arrival of Armageddon in 1999, followed by a new age and the
Second Coming of Christ.
He gave a trance "reading" which
described a number of quite unimaginable natural catastrophes that would occur
at the end of the 20th century. These included:
A shift in the world's axis around the year 2000, leading to:
Inundations of many coastal regions, caused by a drop in the landmass of about
30 feet combined with a melting of both polar ice caps, including:
The loss of much of England and Japan.
The flooding of northern Europe, which will happen very rapidly.

New land appearing off the east coast of North America, the so-called
"rising of Atlantis".
The widespread destruction in Los Angeles, San Francisco and the destruction
of Manhattan and disappearance of New York.
Volcanic eruptions in tropical regions and an increase in Pacific rim
volcanic activity.
A general warming of currently cool areas, and cooling of warm areas of the
globe.
The following are some answers to
exact questions put to Cayce about the Second Coming.
Question: What is
meant by "the day of the Lord is near at hand?"
Answer: That
as has been promised through the prophets and the sages of old, the time
and half time has been and is being fulfilled in this day and generation...
Question: How
soon?
Answer: When
those that are His have made the way clear, passable, for Him to come.
Question: He said He
would come again. What about His Second Coming?
Answer: The time
no one knows. Even as He gave, not even the Son
Himself. Only the Father. Not until His
enemies - and the earth - are wholly in
subjection to His will, His power.
Question: Are
we entering the period of preparation for His coming?
Answer: Entering
the test period, rather.
Question: When
Jesus the Christ comes the second time, will He set up His kingdom on earth
and will it be an everlasting kingdom?
Answer: Read His
promises in that you have written of His words, even as I gave.
He shall rule for a thousand years. Then shall Satan be loosed
again for a season.
Cayce claimed that the events he
foresaw could either not happen or happen differently, depending on how
we act and/or prepare. There is a reference for this in Jess Stearn's
book: Edgar Cayce on the Millennium.
